We currently have an opening for a Sr. UI Software Engineer. The ideal candidate for this position will have an expert understanding of user-centered design principles, strong technical know-how, excellent visual design skills, and proven expertise in UI software development with great attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements major components or subsystems and related user interfaces for new and existing products and features.
- Develops high level and/or detailed prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develops required technical and end user documentation.
- Plays an integral role with ongoing product maintenance, while helping to guide future software versions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Expertise in user-interface development and user-centered design.
- 7+ years experience programming in the following languages: Java/AWT/Swing, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, C/C++, Perl, Shell.
- Strong Java programming skills and object oriented design experience.
- Development experience in Windows and Unix and FreeBSD or Linux environments.
- Configuration management (e.g. CVS, Bugzilla).
- Strong problem solving skills, ability to follow-through independently, and is a motivated self-starter.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
